The North Dakota State University (also NDSU is called) any State University in Fargo in the southeast of the US state of North Dakota . With 12,026 students, it is the second largest university in North Dakota after the University of North Dakota.

history

The university was founded in 1890 as the North Dakota Agricultural College .

research

The university is the most important research institution in North Dakota and, according to the National Science Foundation, is one of the 100 most research-intensive universities in the USA in six research areas . The main research areas of the NDSU include agriculture , nanotechnology , polymer research and radio frequency identification .

Sports

The NDSU sports team is called The Bison . The college is a member of the Summit League and the football team is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference .
