Patrick Faure

Patrick Faure (born May 12, 1946 in Périgueux , France ) is President of Renault F1 .

Patrick Faure graduated from the École nationale d'administration as a lawyer . In 1977 Patrick Faure joined Renault as director of the Toulouse branch . Before that, he worked as an administrative clerk at a Paris bank and as chairman and managing director at Gelbon . In 1986 Faure accepted the position of the new chairman and general manager of Renault Sport. In 1991 he was also appointed Vice President of the Renault Group in Sales and Marketing. In 1998 Patrick Faure worked as President in the Commercial Vehicles division. When Renault re-entered Formula 1 in 2001 , Faure took on the post of President and CEO of the Renault F1 team. At the end of 2004 he gave up all his posts at the Renault Group to concentrate solely on his duties as President of the Formula 1 team. He and his team became constructors 'world champions in 2005 and 2006, and Renault driver Fernando Alonso became world drivers' champions.
