Drew Wrigley, current Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota

The office of vice governor has existed in the US state of North Dakota since the state joined the Union in 1889. Originally elected independently of the governor , which sometimes led to hostility between the two politicians, the incumbent has been determined in the same election since 1974. The Vice-Governor presides over the State Senate as President.
