List of lieutenant governors of Rhode Island
The office of lieutenant governor has existed in the US state of Rhode Island since the state joined the Union in 1790. The lieutenant governor presides over the Senate of Rhode Island as president and represents the governor if the governor cannot exercise his office or is outside the state is located. Before Rhode Island joined the Union, this position was occupied by the "Deputy Governor".
