Giovanni Folcarelli

Giovanni Folcarelli (born May 30, 1926 in Providence , Rhode Island , † May 26, 1982 in Scituate, Providence County , Rhode Island) was an American politician . Between 1965 and 1967 he was Lieutenant Governor of the State of Rhode Island.

There are almost no usable sources about Giovanni Folcarelli. What is certain is that he lived at least temporarily in Scituate in Providence County and was a member of the Democratic Party . In July 1960 he took part as a delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles , at which John F. Kennedy was nominated as a presidential candidate. Four years later, he was the substitute delegate to the next nomination convention when President Lyndon B. Johnson was nominated.

In 1964, Folcarelli was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island alongside John Chafee . This post he held from 1965 to 1967. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, his track is lost again.
