James Greenan Connolly (born March 28, 1886 in West Warwick , Rhode Island , † August 31, 1952 in Digby , Canada ) was an American politician . Between 1929 and 1933 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Rhode Island.

The sources on James Connolly are relatively poor. After studying law and becoming a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. He lived at least temporarily in Pawtucket and was a member of the Republican Party . In 1928 he was elected lieutenant governor of Rhode Island alongside Norman S. Case . He held this office between 1929 and 1933. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, his track is lost again. All that is mentioned is that he was buried in St. Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket.
