Thomas R. DiLuglio
Thomas R. DiLuglio is an American politician . Between 1977 and 1985 he was Lieutenant Governor of the State of Rhode Island .
Career
The date of birth of Thomas DiLuglio is not known. He graduated from high school and then studied at Brown University until 1953 . Since he was probably in his early twenties at the time, he must have been born in the early 1930s. During his time at Brown University, he was a hopeful athlete who performed well in many disciplines. His specialty was the high jump . He won several competitions and wanted to qualify for the American Olympic team. Due to a back injury, however, he had to give up his athletic career.
After studying law at Boston University and being admitted to the bar, he began working in the profession. In the meantime, he also acted as a public prosecutor. He was also active in various other economic sectors. Among other things, he owned a restaurant and ran some old people's homes. He was also President of Cinema 8 Corporation in New York City and represented Columbia Motion Pictures in Los Angeles .
Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In 1976 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island alongside John Garrahy . He held this office after a re-election between 1977 and 1985. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . He was also a member of the federal National Committee of the Humanities . He was also a member of the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority , which oversaw the construction of the Convention Center and the Westin Hotel . He later founded the Rhode Island subsidiary of the National Association for Alzheimer's Disease . In 2003, he was briefly a security officer in Providence .
