Thomas Whipple (Lieutenant Governor)

Thomas Whipple (born June 18, 1787 in Coventry , Rhode Island , †  June 7, 1859 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1849 and 1851 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Rhode Island.

The sources on Thomas Whipple are not good. Nothing is known about his life beyond politics. He lived in Coventry, Kent County . In 1849 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island, alongside Philip Allen . He held this office between 1849 and 1851. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . His party affiliation is not recorded. After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. He died on June 7, 1859 in his birthplace Coventry.
