Joseph Childs
Joseph Childs was an American politician . In 1838 and 1839 he was Lieutenant Governor of the State of Rhode Island .
There are hardly any usable sources about Joseph Childs. His life is largely in the dark. He lived at least temporarily in Portsmouth , Newport County . Politically, he was a member of the Whig Party . In 1838 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island, alongside William Sprague . He held this office between 1838 and 1839. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, his track is lost again.
