Daniel "Dan" McKee (born June 16, 1951) is an American politician . Since January 2015 he is Vice-Governor of the State of Rhode Iceland .

Career

Daniel McKee attended Assumption College in Worcester ( Massachusetts ) and then studied at Harvard University . He joined the Democratic Party and was on the Cumberland City Council between 1992 and 1998 . Then he was elected mayor of that city six times. He also worked temporarily as a basketball coach in the youth sector.

In 2014, McKee was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island alongside Gina Raimondo . He has held this office since January 6, 2015. He is thus Deputy Governor .
