Mark Alan Hutchison (born May 5, 1963 in Las Vegas , Nevada ) is an American politician . From January 2015 to January 2019, he was lieutenant governor of the state of Nevada.

Career

Mark Hutchison graduated from Bonanza High School in Las Vegas and then studied until 1987 at the University of Nevada , also in Las Vegas. After completing a law degree at Brigham Young University and being admitted to the bar, he began working in this profession in a large law firm. Later he founded his own law firm. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between February 2013 and December 2014, he served in the Nevada Senate , serving on the Justice Committee and the Commerce, Labor, and Energy Committee.

In 2014, Hutchison was elected lieutenant governor of Nevada alongside Brian Sandoval with 59 percent of the vote. His opponent was the Democrat Lucy Flores . He held this office from January 5, 2015 to January 7, 2019. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate.
