Samuel W. Chubbuck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Samuel W. Chubbuck was an American politician . Between September and November 1889 he was acting lieutenant governor of the state of Nevada .

There are virtually no usable sources on Samuel Chubbuck. What is certain is that he lived in the town of Gold Hill in Storey County until 1889 and was a member of the Republican Party . After the unexpected death of Lieutenant Governor Henry C. Davis on August 22, 1889, Governor Charles C. Stevenson appointed Chubbuck as his acting successor. He took up his new office on September 9, 1889. Since he moved his residence soon afterwards and apparently left Nevada, he resigned on November 30 of the same year from this post, which Frank Bell then took over. After Chubbuck's resignation, his track is lost again.
