John S. Crosman

John S. Crosman (born August 19, 1820 in Jordan , Onondaga County , New York , †  September 16, 1884 in Williamston , Michigan ) was an American politician . Between 1864 and 1867 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Nevada .

Life

Nothing is known about John Crosman's youth and schooling. He was born in New York State and came to Nevada at an unknown date. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party . In 1864 he was elected lieutenant governor of Nevada at the side of Henry G. Blasdel . He held this office between 1864 and 1867. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . He was also the head of the state penitentiary in this capacity. In 1875, Crosman moved to Michigan. About two years before his death, he briefly returned to Nevada for health recovery. He died in Williamston on September 16, 1884.
