George Brown (politician, 1756)

George Brown (* 1756 in South Kingstown , Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations ; † 1836 ) was an American politician . In 1799 and 1800 he was Lieutenant Governor of the State of Rhode Island .

There are hardly any usable sources about George Brown. His life is largely in the dark. He lived at least temporarily in Washington County in Rhode Island, where he was born. In 1799 and 1800 he was Vice-Governor of his state at Arthur Fenner's side . He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . Then his track is lost again. He died in 1836 in a place that has not been recorded. He had two children with his wife Hanna (1756–1823).
