Pardon Stevens

Pardon White Stevens (born September 4, 1815 in Newport , Newport County , Rhode Island , United States , † April 19, 1875 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1868 and 1872 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Rhode Island.

There are virtually no sources about Pardon Stevens. What is certain is that he lived in Newport at least for a time . In 1868 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island, alongside Ambrose Burnside . He held this office between 1868 and 1872. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . From 1869 he served under the new governor Seth Padelford . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, his track is lost again.
