Joseph O'Donnell

Joseph H. O'Donnell (born May 22, 1925 in North Smithfield , Providence County , Rhode Island , † December 12, 2005 there ) was an American politician . Between 1967 and 1969 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Rhode Island.

Nothing is known about Joseph O'Donnell's youth and schooling. He later worked in the insurance industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In 1960 he became a member of their state board for Rhode Island. In 1966, he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island, alongside John Chafee . He held this office between 1967 and 1969. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. He died on December 12, 2005.
