List of Lieutenant Governors of Vermont
The office of lieutenant governor existed in the US state of Vermont even before the state joined the Union in 1791. The independent Republic of Vermont had existed until then . As in other states, the Vice Governor of the Deputy Governor and follow it if necessary in office after. The lieutenant governor of Vermont is the only one with only a two-year term. He is determined by the people in a separate election (not on a so-called ticket together with the governor).
