Vermont State Treasurer

The State Treasures Office is responsible for various administrative and service functions in accordance with the Vermont bylaws. These include: investing government funds; Issue of government bonds; serves as the central bank for government agencies; State cash management, check processing and bridging; Securing and returning unclaimed or orphaned funds; and managing three major public sector retirement plans.

The current incumbent is Beth Pearce, who was appointed to the post in January 2011 when Jeb Spaulding stepped down to become Secretary of Administration in the Cabinet of Governor Peter Shumlin . Pearce was Spaulding's deputy.
