Jeb Spaulding

Jeb Spaulding , actually George B. Spaulding (* 28. December 1952 in Manchester-by-the-Sea , Massachusetts ) is an American politician who 2003-2011 State Treasurer of Vermont was and since then chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges is .

Life

Spaulding founded the radio station WNCS FM 104.7 in Montpelier (Vermont) and was a partner of Precision Media, Inc. He was also director of the career and personnel development division of the Vermont Department of Education and director of the Vermonter Academy of Science and Technology at Vermont Technical College . He was an associate professor at Norwich University .

As a member of the Democratic Party , he was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives for Washington County from 1985 to 2001 . There he chaired the Finance Committee, the Education Committee, the Joint Finance Committee and the Joint Administrative Rules Committee. He was Vermont State Treasurer from 2003 to 2001 and President of the National Association of State Treasurers in 2009 .

In 2010, he considered running for governor of Vermont, but chose to be re-elected as State Treasurer , which he won with 90 percent approval.

In November 2010 he was nominated by Governor Peter Shumlin to be Secretary of Administration , one of the key cabinet posts in the executive branch. He resigned from the office of treasurer in January 2011.

In January 2015, Spaulding resigned as Secretary of Administration and became Chancellor of Vermont State College.
