Jonathan Nichols junior (born October 24, 1712 in Newport , Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations , † September 8, 1756 ) was a Deputy Governor of the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.

Career

Jonathan Nichols junior, son of Elizabeth Lawton and former Lieutenant Governor Jonathan Nichols († 1727), was born in Newport County during the colonial period . Nothing is known about his youth. He passed away before the end of his second term.

Nichols was married twice. On May 23, 1734 he married his first wife Mary Lawton (1717-1750), daughter of Mary Gould (1688-1751) and Captain George Lawton (1685-1740). The couple had at least one child: Hannah Nichols Hazard (* 1738). After the death of his first wife, he married Mary Bull (1728–1821), daughter of Phebe Coggeshall (1706–1774) and Henry Bull (1687–1774).
