Robert S. Lewis

Robert S. Lewis (born August 15, 1856 - May 23, 1956 in Fargo , North Dakota ) was an American politician . Between 1907 and 1911 he was lieutenant governor of the state of North Dakota.

Career

The sources on Robert Lewis are very poor. What is certain is that he lived at least temporarily in North Dakota and was a member of the Republican Party . Nothing is known about his life beyond politics. Between 1901 and 1905 he was a member of the North Dakota Senate . In 1906, Lewis was elected lieutenant governor of his state alongside John Burke . He held this office after a re-election between 1907 and 1911. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He died on May 23, 1956 at the age of 99 in Fargo, where he was also buried.
