Oscar W. Hagen

Oscar W. Hagen (born March 7, 1884 in Richland County , North Dakota , †  September 12, 1945 ) was an American politician . Between 1941 and 1943 he was lieutenant governor of the state of North Dakota.

Career

Oscar Hagen was the father of Orville W. Hagen (1915-2007), who was also Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota between 1961 and 1963. He worked in the newspaper industry and edited the political newspaper McKenzie Counter Leader , for which his son also worked for some time. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party . Between 1937 and 1940 he was a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives . In 1939 he was his speaker as the successor to Math Dahl .

In 1940 Hagen was elected lieutenant governor of North Dakota alongside John Moses . He held this office between 1941 and 1943. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . He died on September 12, 1945.
