Location of Hinnebeck in the municipality of Schwanewede

Hinnebeck is a district of the municipality Schwanewede in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony . The suburb of Hinnebecker Furth belongs to the district.

geography

The village is located northwest of the core area of Schwanewede. It lies on the western slope of the Garlstedt-Brundorfer Heide. To the west of the village, the Weser flows together with the right branch of the Weser . Hinnebeck has no industry and no trade. The village is very agricultural. It is a popular place to live among commuters.

history

The village was mentioned for the first time, with the name Hinnebeck, in a document from 1236. A census in 1718 showed 40 fireplaces, i.e. 40 families. 182 years later, 207 people lived in 39 houses in the village. Already in 1864 the residents of Hinnebeck set up their own cemetery. The Hinnebeck area belonged to the Hagen office until 1885, but then passed to Blumenthal. In 1900 the connections to Hinnebeck were paved. In 1902, Hinnebeck suffered a disaster . A great fire destroyed four houses and all of their outbuildings. A year later the village smithy was also destroyed by fire. These setbacks initiated a development that shaped the community of the village. On January 4, 1903, at a meeting in the Seebeck inn, 23 villagers founded the Hinnebeck volunteer fire department . The first contribution was five pfennigs, and a hand-operated syringe was purchased from this money as the first equipment . During the Second World War , when the men had to go to war, the women pitched in and revitalized the volunteer fire department. A memorial on the corner of Bergstrasse and Hinnebecker Strasse commemorates those who were lost and victims of the war. The fire brigade became an essential vehicle for community life. From 1973 the fire brigade used its own fire station .

education

There is evidence that Hinnebeck had its own school since the 17th century . Friedrich Thilling was the first teacher to do his service from 1646 to 1659. In the middle of the 18th century the school was replaced by a school building, which in turn was replaced by a new building in 1862. The old school standing on it was long used as the poor house of the community. In 1970 the Hinnebeck school was closed and the schoolchildren then attended the Schwanewede forest school.

traffic

State road  134 and federal highway 27 run east of Hinnebeck . The Hinnebecker Straße runs through the village.
