Ashwarden windmill

Aschwarden is a district of the municipality Schwanewede in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony . It is one of the central locations of the Osterstader March. The districts include Bruch and Hassel.

history

Ashwarden was first mentioned in a document in 1105. The old fortified church "tom Broke" on Kirchenfleth in the Aschwarden-Bruch district, today's Nikolaikirche, was built around 1235 and was restored from 1956 to 1960. In 1800 a post mill was built in Aschwarden by Müller Hayer from Hagen .

The village community center was inaugurated in November 1968.

On March 1, 1974, Aschwarden was incorporated into the municipality of Schwanewede.

The local fire brigade was founded in 1894/1895. The first eleven members joined on November 20, 1895.

Ashwarden Break

The parish Aschwarden-Bruch got its name from the small church village Bruch, so famous for its location on the Bruch .

The interests of Ashwarden are represented by a local chief. In these cases he has to take part in the deliberations in the Council, in the Administrative Committee and in other committees.

Coat of arms

The town's coat of arms shows a single-masted boat with sails, a rooted cabbage and a golden ear of wheat, referring to the history of the town.

  • Windmill on the Weser dike (double-storey gallery Dutch , rebuilt in 1850). 1896 with the house burned down and rebuilt.

Aschwarden was connected to the surrounding towns by bus lines from the Bremen / Lower Saxony transport association (VBN) . The bus route has been discontinued. There are only school buses.
