Phoebe Jane Elizabeth Tonkin (born July 12, 1989 in Sydney ) is an Australian actress . Her best-known role is that of Cleo Sertori, one of the title roles in the Australian youth series H 2 O - Suddenly Mermaid , which she played from 2006 to 2010. She also works as a model .

life and career

Phoebe Tonkin began taking ballet and hip hop lessons at the age of four . She took acting classes from the age of twelve , for example at the Australian Theater for Young People (ATYP). At the Queenwood School in Balmoral , she took private lessons in acting and took part in school performances in addition to regular lessons.

Tonkin had her first role in the Australian youth series H 2 O - Suddenly Mermaid, with which she became internationally known. In October 2007, she and her co-stars Claire Holt and Cariba Heine were at the UK Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards . In 2009 she starred as Lexi in three episodes in the Logie Award- winning Australian drama series The Chaos Family . In 2010, she played a leading role in the adventure film Tomorrow, When the War Began as Fiona Maxwell and made several guest appearances in the award-winning soap opera Home and Away .
