Claire Holt
Claire Rhiannon Holt (born June 11, 1988 in Brisbane , Queensland ) is an Australian actress . She achieved fame primarily through her roles in the series H 2 O - Suddenly Mermaid (2006–2008), Vampire Diaries (2011–2014) and its spin-off The Originals (2013–2018).
Life
Holt attended in her hometown in the district Toowong the Stuartholme high school , where they at school choir took part and the acting classes. In addition, she took private acting lessons. Holt had her first role at the age of 17 in the Australian youth series H 2 O - Suddenly Mermaid , in which she was seen as Emma Gilbert from 2006 to 2008 . On October 20, 2007 she was with her co-stars Phoebe Tonkin and Cariba Heine at the British Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards . When the Australian broadcaster Network Ten decided to produce a third season of H 2 O , Holt turned it down because they wanted to face new challenges. In 2009 she starred as Lindsey Rollins in the prequel Messengers 2: The Scarecrow for the 2007 movie The Messengers . Holt also appeared in commercials for Dreamworld , Sizzler and Queensland Lifesaving .
In 2011 she played alongside Meaghan Jette Martin , Jennifer Stone , Maiara Walsh and Nicole Anderson the role of Chastity Meyer in the TV movie Girls Club 2 - Caution Biting! . She was also seen in a supporting role in the mystery series Pretty Little Liars in 2011 as Samara Cook . She also got the role of original vampire Rebekah Mikaelson in The CW series Vampire Diaries in 2011 , which she also played in its spin-off The Originals from 2013 . However, Holt left the series during the first season, but she made several guest appearances. From 2015 to 2016 she played the role of Charmain Tully in the NBC series Aquarius alongside David Duchovny .
In July 2015, she got engaged to television producer Matthew Kaplan after a little over a year of relationship. The two married in late April 2016 and divorced a year later. She has been married to a real estate manager since August 2018. Their son was born in March 2019.
