Summary

The television series tells the story of the Asian swordsman Heaven, who, according to legend, is the mighty swordsman "Samurai Girl". Together with her friends, the constantly babbling Cheryl and the technology freak and nerd Otto, she fights against her father, the powerful gang boss Tasuke Kogo. He wants to use the power of the samurai girl and thus enlarge his empire. The three friends are supported by the swordsman and ex- Yakuza Jake and the Secret Service agent Severin. Heaven falls in love with Jake, but various circumstances make a relationship between the two almost impossible.

The Book of the Sword Part 1 and 2

Heaven is the adopted daughter of influential entrepreneur Tasuke. She is the only survivor of a plane crash. Together with her brother Hiko, she grows up in a safe environment in Japan. However, this leaves her shortly before her birthday to live with his friend Jake in San Francisco . During her forced wedding with the son of another businessman, ninjas suddenly appear and seriously injure their father. Heaven is able to escape with the help of her brother, who has since been cast out by her father, but who dies during the escape. He refers her to his friend Jake. On the run, she first finds accommodation with Cheryl and her roommate Otto. With their help, she manages to find Jake, who sends her a video message from Hiko. Against the last will of her brother, she tries to find out what is actually going on. She steals a laptop from her father's Kogo Towers , which Otto cracked but deletes itself after playing a real-time video. At the last moment Otto can find out where Noriyuki, the Heaven driver, is being tortured. With the help of Jake, she manages to free the man. She learns from Noriyuki what the assassination attempt is all about. Heaven himself is a descendant of a legendary samurai and has swordsmanship in his blood.

She starts training with Jake. She learns from the Secret Service agent Severin that the assassination attempt on her father was just a deception. Her adoptive father is a high-ranking yakuza who only used the assassination as a ruse to take out the father of her fiancé. Jake himself once belonged to the gang, but has now turned against them and is hiding from the Yakuzas. When Heaven tries to check her email to see if her father has sent her a message, she, Otto and Cheryl are attacked by ninjas. They manage to escape and the friends move in with Jake. Severin asks Heaven to help her smash her father's business. Although she still doesn't really believe him, she agrees.

The Book of the Heart Part 1 and 2

Heaven returns to her father and plays the unsuspecting one. At a meal with friends, she steals important computer files from her father's computer. She learns from her fiancé that her adoptive father is really behind the murder plot. After her brother's funeral, her camouflage is blown when Sato, Tatsuke's right hand, recognizes Otto and Severin via webcam . Her father tries to capture her, but Jake saves Heaven. They quickly steal their father's legendary sword, which Heaven has a special relationship with. Here she notices her special powers for the first time: During the fight, the sword simply flies into her hand. When Jake and Heaven are getting closer, Jake's ex-fiancée Karen shows up and destroys the young happiness.

Severin has meanwhile given a few documents from the files to a professor friend who translates the rare pieces. The scrolls reveal the legend of the "Samurai Girl". Important information is hidden on old bones in the Japanese consulate. Heaven and her friends steal the bones and learn that a rare “mirror” can help solve the mystery. This is kept in the Sierra Nevada . Jake, Heaven and Severin rush there, but are too late. They decide to climb the rock by hand, but the rope comes loose. Heaven has to decide between Jake and Severin.

The Book of Shadows, Parts 1 and 2

Heaven cuts Jake's rope as he falls into the depths. Heaven and Severin fail, Sato comes first to the mirror, which has the shape of a crystal. Meanwhile, Otto and Cheryl find out that something is wrong with Karen, their passport contains a different name. When Heaven comes to their home and tells about the supposed death of Jake, the sadness of this event makes the discovery forget. Jake miraculously survived the fall, he overpowers Sato and takes him to his apartment. Severin interrogates him there. Jake and Karen get back on track and Jake seems to be pushing the relationship with Heaven. With Sato's help, the five Tatsuke set a trap, but Karen thwarts the plan, kills Sato and injures herself. Heaven, however, doubts her and puts her on the wrong track. She pretends to have seen a place in the mirror. Karen sends Tatsuke there, who is arrested by Severin and put in prison.

Heaven tells Jake about Karen's deceptive game. But it's too late: Karen seriously injures Jake, overwhelms Heaven and takes Cheryl hostage. For the showdown, Heaven and Karen meet at the place that the crystal actually showed: the orphanage where Heaven was first housed. There is an altar on which Karen Heaven wants to execute in order to release her powers. However, Heaven manages to kill Karen.

Back in the States, Jake has disappeared, otherwise everything is back to normal. After Heaven's shift at a diner, however, she is suddenly attacked by ninjas and Sato.
