Gerd Vespermann (born July 24, 1926 in Berlin , † November 25, 2000 in Munich ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

The son of the actor Kurt Vespermann and the actress Lia Eibenschütz received piano training at the Weimar University of Music from 1941 to 1944 . From 1946 to 1947 he took acting classes. He began his acting career at the Gardelegen and Burgstädt theaters . Since 1954 he played in Berlin, a. a. at the Hebbel Theater , at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm and at the tribune . He appeared mostly in comedies and musicals.

Vespermann appeared in over 40 feature films from 1953, mostly in smaller roles, including a. in cabaret . On television, he acted as a presenter for programs such as Nightclub , Between Bach and Beat , Bistro and Music Goes Around the World . As a voice actor, he lent his voice a. a. Jeremy Brett (in War and Peace ), John Garfield (in Father Conducted ), Audie Murphy (in Shots in New Mexico ), and Harry Dean Stanton (in Cisco Pike ). He was also the German voice of Bugs Bunny in the cartoon series Mein Name ist Hase .

From 1964 to 1966 Vespermann was married to the actress Hannelore Elsner . His death was not announced to the public until nine months later, at his own request, on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Gerd Vespermann rests in the Grünwald forest cemetery near Munich.
