Under a blanket is the title of a German comedy series that was broadcast on the private broadcaster RTL from 1993 to 1994 .

action

The series is about the relationship between the main characters Siggi and Beate. They live in a wild marriage, which Siggi's mother in particular does not like. She interferes in everything. In addition, she suppresses her husband, Siggi's father, who no longer has his own opinion. Siggi's grandpa Walter plays sports, likes to travel and doesn't seem like a grandpa even when it comes to women.

Siggi's direct colleague Klaus helps him when Siggi has problems. Klaus is married to Vera.

In the 27th episode Siggi and Beate get married and in the last episode their child is born. Not all scripts were filmed in Germany.

The series was originally conceived by the Briton Alex Shearer, who wrote 32 scripts. In the UK, the original "The Two of Us" was on ITV from 1986 to 1990. The first season is available on DVD in the UK.

Parallel to Germany, Endemol also filmed the scripts in the Netherlands under the title "Vrienden voor het leven". This variant was the longest-lived and had a total of 65 episodes from 1990 to 1995. So you can still find out here that Siggi and Beate's child (Eddie and Ellen in the Netherlands) will be a boy. Most of the additional scripts were written by the Dutch actor Peter Lusse (Eddie) and some were also filmed in Germany. 64 episodes of the series have been released on DVD.
