Andreas Mannkopff
Andreas Mannkopff (born May 17, 1939 in Berlin ; † October 9, 2015 there ) was a German actor and voice actor .
Life
Andreas Mannkopff studied classical acting with Fritz Kirchhoff in his hometown of Berlin and initially devoted himself to political cabaret at the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchen as well as in Heidelberg and Berlin . Then Mannkopff appeared in numerous acting roles, initially at the theater. He played at the renowned Berlin Palace Park Theater , influenced by Boleslaw Barlog , and at other state theaters, for example under Hans Lietzau , Boy Gobert , Heribert Sasse and Alfred Kirchner . In 1968 he became known overnight for the thrillerA girl's confession . He then appeared in numerous feature and television films and was mostly on the theater and musical stage all year round after shooting was over. Another boost to fame followed in 1976 with the film Jack the Ripper - The Whore Murderer of London , in which he playedthe feisty Scotland Yard director who chased the murdererat the side of Klaus Kinski ; a film that made Mannkopff known in Europe too. Mannkopff received other film roles in, among others, Fabian , Otto - Der Film and Samba in Mettmann .
Mannkopff was one of the busiest German film and television actors of the 1970s and 1980s. He gained greater prominence through roles in various television series, especially in some of the ZDF Christmas series, which had particularly high ratings, such as his star role in Jack Holborn , Oliver Maass and Patrik Pacard . He had other roles in The Wicherts from Next Door and as Main Boatswain Wutzki in Not from Bad Parents . He had guest appearances in many series, such as in Der Landarzt , Lokaltermin , Decided and announced , Tatort , Großstadtrevier , The men from K3 , Der Fahnder , The Black Forest Clinic , The Dream Ship , The Dear Relatives , A Case for Two and Lukas .
In addition to his work as a theater, television and film actor, Mannkopff also worked as a voice actor and language artist for film and television. For example, he voiced the actor John Candy in ten films, including The Little Horror Shop , Mel Brooks' Spaceballs and Who is Harry Crumb? , as well as Benny Hill in the Benny Hill Show , Garfield and Kenneth Connor in the British carry-on… film series . In 1968 he spoke because his vocal resemblance to Wolfgang Gruner (the role in the two real films 1964 and 1965 Yeah Yeah Yeah and Hi-Hi-help! The Beatles had spoken) Paul McCartney in the animated film Yellow Submarine . In the 1960s to 1980s, Mannkopff was also a frequent guest as a singer in the radio and television programs by and with Hans Rosenthal such as Grandpa's Schlagerfestival (RIAS / WDR), Dalli Dalli or the Schlagerfestival der Twenties (ZDF). In 1987 his son Daniel was born.
Andreas Mannkopff also earned recognition as an underground filmmaker with the satirical film Never Again Alcohol (1993), alongside Barbara Schöne and Christiane Maybach . Mannkopff wrote the book, directed and played the leading role. In a more recent project, Mannkopff, who had also completed a vocal degree, performed as a milkman in Anatevka . Mannkopff was most recently an ensemble member of the Faust Festival Kronach under director Daniel Leistner and played in Der Florentinerhut in the summer of 2015 .
On October 9, 2015, Andreas Mannkopff died at the age of 76 after a serious illness in Berlin.
