Hafendetektiv is a German crime series that ran on ARD's evening program in 1987 and 1991 . It takes place in Duisburg and tells of the cases of the private detective Benno Stepanek ( Klaus Löwitsch ).

Albertöffelhardt interrupted his work as a detective for two years to look for the grave of his father, who died in the war in Africa. Back in Duisburg, he resumes his work with new papers and under the new name Benno Stepanek. Mainly on behalf of Chief Detective Eberhardt Toffer, he investigates various cases that take place in the Duisburg port . He is supported again by his old friends Irene (his ex-girlfriend) and Franz, who Irene works for.

Hafendetektiv is a spin-off of the detective series Detective Office Roth , in which Klaus Löwitsch is commissioned to investigate in nine episodes. Also Hildegard Krekel and Horst A. Fechner were there already in the process.

As with Detective Office Roth , the scripts for the television series are from Felix Huby (including a Bavarian on Rügen , Tatort , metropolitan area ).

The first season ran from January 12, 1987 to February 16, 1987 and from July 11, 1987 to September 26, 1987. The second season ran from October 10, 1991 to December 19, 1991.
