Jörg Pleva
Jörg Pleva (born June 23, 1942 in Stuttgart ; † August 14, 2013 in Hamburg ) was a German actor , voice actor and theater director .
Life
Since his mother was a ballet master at the Komische Oper Berlin , Pleva received ballet lessons as a ten-year-old. As a teenager, however, he turned to acting and finished his training at the Staatstheater Stuttgart in 1960 . As a theater actor he was successful all over Germany.
At the same time, Pleva began making films and series for television . Probably his greatest success was the role of Bernhard Lotz in Tom Toelles and Wolfgang Menges satire Das Millionenspiel from 1970. In the series Black Forest Clinic , he played the role of pharmaceutical researcher Dr. Pagan.
Pleva was also active as a speaker in radio plays and as a voice actor. His voice became particularly well-known through the synchronization of the leading actors in three Stanley Kubrick films: Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange (1971), Ryan O'Neal in Barry Lyndon (1975) and Jack Nicholson in Shining (1980). Kubrick was so enthusiastic about Pleva's vocal performance in A Clockwork Orange that he personally selected him to also dub the leading actors in his next two films.
In 1995 Pleva founded the acting company AdHoc. Under his direction, the plays Der Wirrkopf , Die Schule der Mannes , Der Geizige , Der Bürger als Edelmann and The Imaginary Sick von Molière were performed , which were performed over 700 times in German-speaking countries.
In 1998 the drama company AdHoc set up a theater tent in Hamburg and played three one-act plays by Molière.
His daughter Tanja Pleva, born in 1965, comes from Pleva's first marriage to Marion Reh; she works as an author. He and the actress Yvonne Remé had their son Janos Pleva, who died in 1991 of a brain tumor. His son Anton Pleva from a longstanding relationship with his acting colleague Giulia Follina played in many of his productions.
Jörg Pleva died at the age of 71 and was buried next to his son Janos in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg.
