Life

The daughter of a German and an Italian was discovered as a toddler and was brought in front of the camera for the first time for the role of little Bärbel in the family series Schölermann Family , the first ever television series on German television. Follina, who was born and raised in Hamburg, was then eleven-year-old from Hamburg producer Gyula Trebitsch to play the role of little Nicky in the comedy Der Lügner , shot in the Hanseatic city , in which Heinz Rühmann embodied the title hero and her father, who for her supposed benefit and protection his daughter, constantly telling lies. There, as in some of Follina's other early film and television roles, her first name was Germanized in the opening credits as Julia .

Until shortly before graduating from high school, the attractive, dark-haired high school student who actually wanted to become a fashion illustrator only appeared sporadically in front of the camera. It was not until she was 16 years old that Giulia Follina began to work professionally. At the beginning of the 1970s, her career seemed to take shape when she received the title role in the cinema production Fräulein von Stradonitz in memoriam . Immediately thereafter, she played the young mother Siggi, who in the socially realistic, critically acclaimed Ruhrpott Zeitbild Zoff gets caught between two men ( Jürgen Prochnow , Claus Theo Gärtner ).

Nevertheless, her television career has stagnated since then, and she made guest appearances in a number of television series. Giulia Follina also works as a voice actress. For example, she was the German voice of prosecutor Laura Michaels on the US television series New York Cops - NYPD Blue .

On stage you could see them in an abundance of classical pieces, including The Robbers , Mr. Puntila and his servant Matti , Wassa Tschelesnova, And Budda laughs As You Like It , The Miser and The Conceited Sick . She played several times under the direction of Karl Paryla and Jörg Pleva , her long-time partner with whom she has a son ( Anton Pleva ).
