occupation

Spring on Immenhof is a German color film by the director Wolfgang Schleif from 1974 with Heidi Brühl and Horst Janson as well as the twins Birgit and Bettina Westhausen and Olga Chechowa as grandmother Arken in the leading roles. It is the last of the five Immenhof films that were released between 1955 and 1974. Like its predecessor Die Zwillinge vom Immenhof , which was filmed in 1973, it pretends to tie in with the film trilogy of the 1950s that took place on the fictional Immenhof estate (the setting was Gut Rothensande ) in Schleswig-Holstein. The film had its cinema premiere on September 13, 1974.

action

Brigitte Voss and Alexander Arkens are now a couple, but the Immenhof remains in an economically precarious situation. While Brigitte wants to borrow money from a friend, Alexander wants to open a riding hotel. Due to the experiences from her childhood, Dalli refuses this brusquely and offends Alexander with it, whereupon he terminates the lease for the Immenhof.

Brigitte now tries to run the Immenhof on her own, and Alexander Arkens comes to terms with the Wetterkop father, who has offered him to take over his farm. The clique around Billy and Bobby actively helps with the renovation. The twins also experience a lot in their school with the new teacher Döberlein.

When Alexander Arkens tries to enter into a contractual relationship with a travel agency, the representative of the travel agency flirts violently with him and intrigues against Brigitte behind his back. She then becomes jealous and threatens to leave the Immenhof forever.

Relation to the previous films

From the cast of the original trilogy, only Heidi Brühl remains. In terms of content, the film only ties in with The Twins from Immenhof . The second follow-up film from the 1970s also draws on the tried-and-tested schemes from the first three parts, with the similarity between Ethelbert and Hasso, who, like Ethelbert at the time, also comes to Immenhof as a visit from the city.

criticism

The lexicon of international films wrote that remaking a "stressed subject" was "hardly entertaining."
