Alexander Grill

Alexander Grill (born June 30, 1938 in Graz , † May 22, 2009 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

Alexander Grill attended the Neuber-Gandernak Theater School in Graz. He had his first appearance on September 29, 1960 at the Schauspielhaus Graz in Johann Nestroy's Joke He wants to make himself . This was followed by numerous engagements at German theaters, including the State Theaters in Oldenburg and Stuttgart , the Schiller Theater in Berlin and the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz in Munich. In the spring of 1982, Alexander Grill was dismissed from the ensembles of the Klagenfurt City Theater and the Komödienspiele Porcia because he had played theater while on sick leave in Switzerland and South Africa . From 1985 Grill worked under the management of Günter Krämer in Bremen, followed by ten years at Cologne stages. In Austria he performed at the Burgtheater , Volkstheater , Akademietheater and at the Schauspielhaus Graz . In 2005 Grill became a member of the theater in der Josefstadt .

From the 1960s, Grill also starred in some German feature films. Grill became known to a German audience primarily through his participation in the ensemble of Rudi's Tagesshow , in which he replaced the team around Beatrice Richter and Diether Krebs alongside Susanne Czepl .

After Fritz Muliar's death in early May 2009, he took on the role of Baron Ciccio in Peter Turrini's production of the Goldoni play Die Wirtin at the Theater in der Josefstadt . Grill suffered a stroke on May 16 and died a week later at the age of 70.

Grill was married three times, and from these relationships he has four daughters.
