Bohr weiter, Kumpel is a German soft sex comedy directed by Siggi Götz from 1974.

action

Ruhrpott-Type Egon Kappes is down-to-earth and thoroughly honest, he works hard as a miner underground. He and his four buddies hope to blow the jackpot one day, because they have been a tight-knit lottery community for years. One day Fortuna actually laughs at them, because the ticket number drawn means nothing less than a fiver with an additional number, and so there is a lot of money in the house. But Egon is a bullshit, he has lost his lottery ticket. Since his buddies are counting on the money they will win, they have already thrown themselves into expenses and purchased countless consumer goods. In order to bridge the days until the winnings were paid out, they unfortunately fell into the clutches of a loan shark, the butcher Noppenei, who is definitely not prepared to wait forever for the loan to be repaid with a substantial usury premium longer than agreed.

Now it is financially on fire in every nook and cranny, and since Egon no longer mates his wife Erna as regularly as she demands in the face of all these worries, she goes to Frau Dose's brothel to get over the financial bottleneck. But Erna wants to earn something for very mundane reasons. With Egon's share in the lottery, she finally wanted to change clothes again, and since this hoped-for financial blessing is currently not available, she invests her whore's wages in - what else - new shoes, but also in groceries. In view of Erna's tendency to spend her money with full hands, the other woman's friend suspects that Egon might well have taken the lottery win, but he doesn't want to give any of it to his friends. The confusions finally go so far that Egon ends up in the nuthouse where, thanks to the full physical effort of the well-built nurses Monika and Veronika, he remembers where he put the lottery ticket. At last it was lying on the sink in the kitchen and he had given it to his wife because she needed a piece of paper. Excited, he leaves the clinic and runs home, but Erna has just lent the wig to her friend Trude, where she had used the bill as a "lining". Together with his buddies, Egon makes his way to Trude, but it's not that easy to find them. When, after a long chase, they finally hold the bill in their hands, they rush to the lottery shop and pick up their long-awaited winnings.

Production notes

Bohr weiter, Kumpel was created in Essen and premiered on May 10, 1974.

KD Pfeifer provided the equipment. Günter Eulau was the production manager, Otto W. Retzer was the production manager.

Although the actors all speak German, they were dubbed (because of the Ruhrpott slang required).

criticism

The Lexicon of International Films simply called the film "humorlessly vulgar."

The magazine Filmecho / Filmwoche regretted that the potential "folk piece for the whole family" had become a "pull-out film", "whose images and language alone can please lovers of the roughest film food."
