content

The married couple Max and Lisa Lindemann run the Hotel Paradies as a family business on the Spanish island of Mallorca , which mainly accommodates German holidaymakers. The two sons Frank, paraplegic since a serious accident, and Michael, a motorcycle freak and heartthrob, help their parents at the reception and Grandpa also makes himself useful. The Parkhotel owner Agostino Kroll, who had to sell the Hotel Paradies to Grandpa Lindemann some time ago due to lack of money, is responsible for intrigues . Now wealthy, he wants the prestige property back at any price.

The series also tells the story of Klaus Feller. In a previous financial emergency, he committed an insurance fraud. Together with his then wife Renate Feller, he faked his death and took out the life insurance that he had taken out on him, which he consequently shared with Renate. Then Klaus Feller went into hiding. With the false name Harald Kuhn, he now runs a car rental company with an associated repair shop on Mallorca. The situation gets tricky when his ex-wife unexpectedly turns up on the island with her boyfriend Jens Hartmann and Ewald Stronk, a former customer of Klaus Feller who recognizes him by his voice. In order to save his own skin, Kuhn flees to the mountains to meet the caveman and hermit Manfred. Stronk takes up the chase with one of Kuhn's cars, but crashes with it and has a fatal accident. The search for the perpetrator becomes a nerve-wracking patience ...

The above-mentioned situation is exacerbated by the character Jens Hartmann. The fanatical diver and his girlfriend Renate Feller, Harald Kuhn's ex-wife, are looking for a treasure of gold hidden in a shipwreck. After he actually discovered the gold after a long time, he lacks the necessary money to recover it. First he asks Renate for the money, but she refuses. Therefore, in his madness, he blackmailed her ex-husband Harald Kuhn: After he found out about Renate's past, he immediately threatened to go to the insurance company and have Kuhn exposed. Thereupon Kuhn and his new partner Isabel leave for Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and sell Max Lindemann his car rental company. Ultimately, Renate gives him the money for the rescue - a mistake as it turns out. Hartmann is killed while recovering the gold bars and Renate Feller is placed in custody. In the course of the conversation with the detective inspector Ramirez, it emerges that Hartmann has taken out life insurance in favor of Renate.

In each episode there are also one or two additional stories in which the hotel staff is kept busy. The additional roles are usually played by top-class guest stars.
