Klaus Herm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klaus Herm (born January 13, 1925 in Berlin ; † May 24, 2014 there ) was a German actor .

Life

Even his parents were actors. After attending grammar school, he took acting lessons at the drama school of the German Theater and then with Agnes Windeck . First he played on the stages of Berlin, worked at the Deutsches Theater from 1943 to 1947. Here he made his debut on February 11, 1943 as Demetrius in Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra . As early as 1947 he worked under Boleslaw Barlog in The Taming of the Shrew at the Palace Park Theater . From 1947 to 1950 he was employed at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm , where he played the role of the accountant Adolphe Minard in Der Speculant vom Balzac . He was then a member of the State Drama Theaters of Berlin for 18 years (1952–1970) , worked mostly at the Schiller Theater (including in Die Räuber and Der Hauptmann von Köpenick ), but also at the Schlosspark Theater . He was also one of the brilliant young actors who appeared in the British Center on Kurfürstendamm (in the Mendelssohn building on Lehniner Platz ) under their boss Ottokar Runze in the fiery club from 1951 to 1956 - with Martin Benrath , Wolfgang Spier and the very young Horst Buchholz . Under Kunze he played the title character in Ionesco's The New Tenant in 1969 . He also worked for years in the popular radio comedy series Pension Spreewitz and the literary series Back then it was - stories from old Berlin in the RIAS - the radio plays were recorded at night to avoid background noise - and with many other radio productions.

1970–1972 he appeared as a freelance actor at the Residenztheater in Munich (including in Der Kirschgarten ). 1974–1979 he worked again at the Berlin Schillertheater. His Lucky in Waiting for Godot at the side of Stefan Wigger , Horst Bollmann , Carl Raddatz and Torsten Sense was legendary . The production, created in 1975 at the Berlin Schillertheater under the direction of the author Samuel Beckett , was a global success - with guest appearances in London and New York, in Israel, Ireland and Switzerland. And the record published by Deutsche Grammophon in 1981 received the record award. Further stations were 1979–1983 at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (among other things as vain high school professor Gollwitz in Raub der Sabinerinnen ), 1983–1986 the stages of the city of Bonn (among other things as spooky Elwood D. Dowd in Mein Freund Harve y ) and parallel 1986–1990 the Residenztheater Munich (including Professor Bernhardi from Arthur Schnitzler ) and in 1990 the Hamburger Kammerspiele ( Elisabeth II from Thomas Bernhard ). Further appearances abroad have taken him to Yugoslavia, Great Britain, Israel and the USA.

From 1961 he could also be seen regularly on television. He shot with Eberhard Fechner (including secret agents ), Rainer Erler (among others in Der Amateur in a grandiose leading role as a bank teller, based on the book Tænk på et tal by Anders Bodelsen ), Dieter Wedel (among others, every year again , Schwarz Rot Gold ), Hartmut Griesmayr , Wolfgang Becker , Claus Peter Witt ( death of a pupil ) , Michael Günther (string quartet) and Franz Peter Wirth (exchange of notes) . He could also be seen in numerous episodes in the Tatort , The Old and Derrick series, as well as as Küster in Schwarz intervenes ; Here he was able to shine in numerous leading roles as a character actor in nine Derrick episodes - he was also involved in perhaps the best of all Derrick episodes, Kaffee with Beate (directed by Alfred Vohrer ).

In the list of the busiest radio play speakers in Germany, Klaus Herm takes a top position with 866 "missions" (2nd place behind Matthias Ponnier ). The number is made up of 464 individual radio plays, 150 episodes Pension Spreewitz , 173 episodes Back then it was and 79 episodes Professor van Dusen . When Hutchinson Hatch appeared in the often repeated series of radio drama Professor van Dusen , which RIAS Berlin (later: DeutschlandRadio Berlin ) produced between 1978 and 1999, he was particularly successful and became known to a wide audience.

Klaus Herm died in May 2014 at the age of 89 in his hometown of Berlin. He found his final resting place in the Heerstrasse cemetery in Berlin-Westend (Dept. II M-27).
