Jusuf Naoum

Jusuf Naoum (born February 25, 1941 in El Mina / Lebanon ) is a Lebanese - German writer and storyteller .

Life

Jusuf Naoum grew up in Lebanon near Tripoli . His youth was shaped by the literary interests of his parents and the encounter with the oriental tradition of telling fairy tales , which his mother in particular conveyed to him. Naoum came to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1964 as a guest worker . He completed an apprenticeship in the hotel and restaurant industry and then worked as a waiter . When he became unemployed, he retrained as a masseur and worked in this profession. After he had already started to publish his own texts in German in the 1970s , he has been a freelance writer since 1983 ; In addition, he presents his literary works in oral form in numerous appearances as a “ coffee house storyteller”. Naoum now lives in Niedernhausen / Taunus .

Jusuf Naoum is the author of novels , short stories , poems and radio plays .

Jusuf Naoum is a member of the Association of German Writers ; From 1981 until its dissolution in 1987 he belonged to the PoLiKunst-Verein für Migrantenliteratur . Naoum received u. a. 1992 the culture award of the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis .
