Markus Dewald

Markus Dewald (* 1952 in Neuhausen auf den Fildern ) is a senior lecturer and holds a doctorate in cultural studies .

After he had passed his Abitur at Georgii-Gymnasium in Esslingen am Neckar in 1972, Markus Dewald completed his military service until 1974 and embarked on an officer career. From 1974 to 1979 he studied geography and sports science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen. Dewald passed his first state examination, completed a legal clerkship and passed his second state examination in 1982. From 1997 to 2000 he studied for a doctorate at the Ludwig-Uhland-Institute for Empirical Cultural Studies and in 2001 he obtained a doctorate in social sciences in the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences with the work The number of fools is infinite. Carnival in Neuhausen - from the village carnival to the organized fool's show . Dewald is known for his publications on German, European, secular and ecclesiastical festival culture. His geographical and cultural studies travel and excursion focus are in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, France and Spain.

Since 1982 he has been a teacher for geography , geology and NWT at the Paracelsus-Gymnasium-Hohenheim in Stuttgart .
