The Theaterschiff Potsdam is a former barge in Potsdam that has been converted into a theater .

history

The ship is the Sturmvogel , a barge built in 1924 , a former barge. It is 52 meters long and 6 meters wide. In the 1990s it was converted into a theater ship.

Theater ship

The theater ship has been in Potsdam since 1995. Initially the berth was in the Alte Fahrt . It is now located on the Tiefen See on Schiffbauergasse, right next to the Hans Otto Theater . Occasionally it is also used for tours on the Brandenburg waterways and beyond.

The theater hall can seat around 90 people. Theater productions, comedy and cabaret are shown . The theater ship is also used for dance events and concerts. Since January 2010 the "Potsdam Nachschlag" has been taking place once a month, a celebrity talk moderated by Tatjana Meissner with a celebrity from Potsdam or the surrounding area. Next to the theater there is a restaurant on board. In the summer months, the upper deck is also used for gastronomic purposes.
