Barbara Strohschein (* 1949 in Berlin ) is a German philosopher and author.

Life

Barbara Strohschein was born in Berlin . After completing the state examination in teaching, she worked as a research assistant in the field of educational research at the University of Regensburg . She did her doctorate at the University of Hamburg on the philosopher Ernst Bloch on the subject of "Daydream, Hope, Fantasy." She then worked as a lecturer at Hoffmann und Campe Verlag . With a study on “The value of the human subject in the human capital debate, genetic research , globalization and the media” for the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy in Hamburgshe began her preparatory work to establish her philosophical practice. After moving to Berlin in 2002, she founded her practice for values ​​cor amati and gives advice there.

Strohschein published her scientific work on daydream, hope and utopia in relation to aesthetic education .

For NDR television she conceived and moderated a philosophical talk show for young people under the title “Youth Dream and Reality”.

Her plays were premiered in Hamburg, Koblenz , Graz and Kiel . She developed the concept for her philosophical practice for values in the period from 2000. In 2011, together with Dieter Flader, she founded the “Berlin Institute for Applied Human Sciences” for research and consulting.
