In the list of four thousand meter peaks in the Valais Alps , all 41 four thousand meter peaks in the Valais Alps are listed according to the UIAA . 22 of them are located entirely in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland , 11 on the border between the Canton of Valais and the Aosta Valley in Italy , 5 on the border between the Canton of Valais and Piedmont , two completely in the Aosta Valley and one on the border between the Aosta Valley and Piedmont.

Legend

• Rank : Rank that the summit occupies among the four-thousanders.
• Summit : Name of the summit, if it is a secondary summit, this is made clear by the addition of brackets or non-linking.
• Height : height of the mountain. In meters above sea level if this is wholly or partially in Switzerland, in metri sul livello del mare (meters above sea level) if it is in Italy.
• Location : in which canton or region the summit is located.
• Massive : Massive in which the mountain is located.
• Prop. : Independence of the summit. 0 <1.0 = world peak, 1 <2.0 = main mountain of a continent, 2 <3.0 = main mountain of a mountain range, 3 <4.0 = main mountain of a mountain group, 4 <5.0 = main peak, 5 <6, 0 = secondary peak, 6 <7.0 = hill, 7.0 = other point. In the Alps, the UIAA recognizes Gratzacken of the complete class 6 (6.00 to 6.99) as summits.
• Dominance : The dominance describes the radius of the area that the mountain towers over. Specified in kilometers with reference point, if available in sources.
• Scharte : The Schartenhöhe is the difference in height between the summit height and the highest crest down to which you have to descend at least in order to reach a higher summit. Specified in meters with reference point if available in sources. Second indication in percent of the summit height.
• First ascent : Names of the first ascent with date. A ? means that the first climber and / or the date can no longer be traced. among other things means that other people not known by name were involved.
• Image : Image of the mountain if the summit is not clearly recognizable with a description.
