The Weissmies is a 4017  m above sea level. M. high mountain of the Valais Alps in Switzerland . On the side facing the Saas Valley , the mountain is glaciated, while on the east and south sides rock faces dominate the picture. Valley locations are Saas-Grund and Saas-Almagell .

The first ascent was made at the end of August 1855 by Jakob Christian Heusser from Zurich and Peter Joseph Zurbriggen, a notary from the canton of Valais . The starting point was the Almageller Alp.

The Weissmies got its name from the dialect form "Mies", which means something like "Moos". Weissmies therefore means "white moss".

The majority of the ascent takes place via the two normal routes: From Hohsaas ( 3098  m ) or the Weissmieshütten ( 2726  m ) above the Saas Valley over the crevasse Trift glacier , the northwest flank and the upper west ridge (Trift ridge) in 3½-4 hours or from the Almagellerhütte ( 2896  m ) over the Zwischenbergen Pass and the south ridge with a time expenditure of 4–5 hours.
