The Weissmies group is a sub-group of the Valais Alps . It is located in the southeast of the Valais Alps and lies between the Saas Valley in the west and the Simplon Pass in the east. The northern border forms the Rhone valley . The mountains of this subgroup are mainly located on Swiss territory, in the south and southeast this subgroup extends to Italy . The southern border forms the Valle Anzasca .

The highest peak of the group is the Weissmies ( 4017  m above sea level ). Together with Fletschhorn ( 3985  m above sea level ) and Lagginhorn ( 4010  m above sea level ), this forms the well-known triumvirate of the group. Striking and about 19 kilometers north of the Weissmies is the Glishorn ( 2525  m ), the northernmost peak of the entire chain, above the Rhone Valley .

The western part of the group, especially above Saas Grund , is quite well developed for tourism, while the east and north are quite lonely.
