The Mont Blanc de Courmayeur ( Italian Monte Bianco di Courmayeur ) is an elevation on the southeast shoulder of Mont Blanc with a height of 4748  m slm

It is in front of Mont Blanc about 800 m southeast towards the city of Courmayeur and therefore appears from there as the summit of Mont Blanc. It is separated from Mont Blanc by the only imperceptibly cut saddle Col Major (approx. 4740  m ).

The west, south and east slopes of Mont Blanc de Courmayeur are in Italy . The area between the summit and the summit of Mont Blanc is politically controversial (see border on Mont Blanc ): On some maps the state border runs over the summit of Mont Blanc ( 4810  m ), which would make it the highest point in Italy while the Mont Blanc de Courmayeur would have the highest peak that lies entirely in Italy. On other maps, the border runs over the summit of Mont Blanc de Courmayeur, making it the highest point in Italy. On still others, the border runs along the edge of the rock, so that the summit comes to rest entirely on French soil.
