Leonhard Reinirkens
Leonhard Reinirkens (born August 7, 1924 in Essen , † March 23, 2008 in Unkel ) was a writer , author of radio and television productions and reciter .
Life
Leonhard Reinirkens lived in Unkel am Rhein from 1930 until his death in 2008. He attended the Martinus-Gymnasium in Linz on the Rhine and in 1942 made the "War Abitur". After military service and imprisonment, he studied history, German literature and psychology at the University of Bonn . In 1951 he finished his studies with a degree in psychology. He was close friends with Stefan Andres (his neighbor from 1950 to 1961).
Leonhard Reinirkens had been a writer since 1946 and published his first book in 1948. 1951 began his work as a writer for the radio and since 1961 also for television. Until his death he worked as a book author and reciter, especially of his own works.
In his works, the author often described the so-called "good old days" of the past centuries in the Rhineland , the Palatinate and even Tuscany . The appropriate local color and understanding for the worries and problems of the much-described little people always spoke from his stories, in his lectures, but also from his voice . His characters came to life because the reader could empathize with them without any problems. This distinguished Leonhard Reinirken's work and was one of the reasons for the high awards the author received.
