Israel Horovitz

Israel Horovitz (born March 31, 1939 in Wakefield , Massachusetts ) is an American-Jewish playwright , screenwriter , director and actor .

In 1965 he became the first full-time American actor at England's renowned Royal Shakespeare Company .

His works include especially off-Broadway plays such as Park Your Car in Harvard Yard , The Primary English Class , The Widow's Blind Date and The Indian Wants the Bronx ; for the latter he was given the Obie Award .

Horovitz is now Art Director at Gloucester Stage Company and The New York Playwrights Lab , both of which he founded.

Israel Horovitz is the father of " Beastie Boy " Adam "Adrock" Horovitz .

Following allegations of sexual assault in December 2017, he resigned from running the Gloucester Stage Company.
