Adam Horovitz
Adam Keefe Horovitz (born October 31, 1966 in South Orange , New Jersey ), also known as King Ad-Rock or Adrock , is an MC and producer from New York , USA . He was a member of the hip-hop band Beastie Boys from 1982 until they broke up in 2012 . He is the son of screenwriter Israel Horovitz .
Life
After John Berry left the Beastie Boys, Adam Horovitz became a member of the band. In addition to seven albums with the band so far , he also released the album Simply Mortified in 2001 with the side project BS 2000 . He was also a producer for the Japanese hip-hop band Teriyaki Boyz . He also briefly tried his hand at acting , with appearances in films like Lost Angels , Roadside Prophets and A Kiss Before Dying .
Privately, he had relationships with the actresses Molly Ringwald (1987–1988) and Ione Skye (1988–1999; married 1991–1999) and the musician Kathleen Hanna (since 1996; married since 2006).
