Royal Shakespeare Company
The Royal Shakespeare Company ( RSC for short ) is a theater company based in Stratford-upon-Avon , London and Newcastle . It was founded in 1960 by Peter Hall . In Stratford she plays and maintains the Royal Shakespeare Theater (built in 1933 as Shakespeare Memorial Theater , renamed 1961), the Swan Theater , which is based on the Elizabethan theaters, and the small theater The Other Place . The Barbican Theater in the Barbican Center , built in 1982 as the London venue for the RSC, left the ensemble in 2002 to play at different venues in the city.
